Dear visitor,My name is Ioannis and I am a licensed tour guide from Kalamata in the deep south of the Peloponnese peninsula of southern Greece.I have studied History and Archaeology in the University of Athens, where I was the valedictorian of my class, graduating with a 1st class honours degree.During my studies, I have also received two awards from the Greek State Scholarships Foundation for being 1st of my class.After my graduation, I continued my studies, obtaining a Master's degree in Modern History from the University College London (UCL) and an MA in Cultural Management from Panteio University.After working for a while as a teacher, I decided to retrain myself as a tour guide and here I am!I am available for tours mainly in the Peloponnese, in English, French and Greek.The peninsula is considered to be the cradle of Greece and the birthplace of some of the world's greatest civilizations.Together we can explore thousands of years of Greek history, since, as I have always said, a journey to the Peloponnese is like a time travel to the glorious past of our country.Besides the Peloponnese, I am also available for tours in Athens, the capital of Greece, and I am open for suggestions as well.My areas of specialty are :- Archaeological Sites : Olympia, Mystras, Ancient Messene, Nestor's Palace, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Acropolis, Castles of Modon and Pylos- Museums : Archaeological Museum of Olympia, Archaeological Museum of Messenia, Museum of Ancient Messene, Acropolis Museum, Archaeological Museum of Mycenae- City tours : Nafplio, Monemvasia, KalamataThus, as you can understand, I can take you a tour all over the Peloponnese and Athens if you want to!I am also available for nature tours if you want to explore the wilderness!I am generally a friendly, relaxed and easy going person, who loves talking about history and culture.I am also an artistic person who loves photography and film making.I have lived abroad and I have travelled a lot, something that made me realise that every culture is unique and deserves respect.Thus, I'd love to learn from you, as much as you are gonna learn from me.Come with me and let's begin our journey to one of Greece's most beautiful areas!
