Travel to Nafplio, a beautiful and picturesque settlement located on the northeast side of the Peloponnese. It is famous for being the first capital of Modern Greece. Nowadays, it’s a popular tourist destination, renowned for its narrow alleys and its Venetian castle, called Palamidi, which dominates its skyline.

Meet your tour guide at the agreed-upon location and visit the Three Admirals’ square of Nafplio.
Head to the nearby buildings, like the Courthouse and the Venetian Land gate.
Proceed to Syntagma square, crossing a narrow paved street.
Make some stops on the way to see some noteworthy buildings, like the churches of Saint Spyridon and Saint George. Syntagma square is the most popular part of the city and contains some interesting buildings, like the first parliament of modern Greece, the building of the National bank and the Museum.
Pay a visit to the Museum to see an interesting collection of exhibits that date from the Neolithic to the Byzantine period.
Walk towards the port, where you can take some beautiful photos of the sea, with the fortified islet of Bourtzi visible on the horizon.
Take a car and drive towards Palamidi Castle, which is located just five minutes from the city centre.
Stop at the Lion of Bavaria sculptural group, which was created in the 19th century.
Arrive at Palamidi, enter the castle and walk through its narrow passageways. You will visit the bastions, the chapel of Saint Andrew and the jail cell of the Greek revolutionary hero, Theodoros Kolokotronis. You will also have some time to take photos, as the castle offers a breathtaking view of the sea and the old city of Nafplio.
Return to the car and drive towards the Three Admirals’ square, where the tour ends.

Entrance fees include 6 euros per person for the Archaeological Museum and 8 euros per person for Palamidi Castle.
European Union citizens over the age of 65 have a 50% discount for all archaeological sites and museums.
For EU students under the age of 18, entrance is free to all archaeological sites and museums.
Opening hours: Archaeological museum of Nafplio 09:00 - 16:00 (Tuesday closed); Palamidi Castle 08:00 - 20:00.
