Accidentally perfect!

Reviewed January 2, 2016

Friends and I decided to take a little tour of the Garden District and the cemetery recently on a short winter vacation.  We wanted a tour guide but didn't know how to arrange for someone knowledgeable and fun--not the standard fare.  How lucky were we to meet Randy and the tour he was just beginning?  We paid our VERY reasonable fee and joined the group then we spent two fascinating hours hearing stories, seeing sights, and being regaled in New Orleans lore that was so delightful and passed so quickly we hardly could believe our time was up.  The tour was exactly what we were hoping for so we asked Randy to provide a second tour before we left New Orleans--this time a literary walk through the French Quarter.  He happily accommodated us.  Both tours were awesome and we couldn't have been more delighted with our experiences.  Randy's a treasure...don't miss his tours on your next trip.

Randy is the best of the best

Reviewed October 20, 2015

Randy is such an excellent tour guide! I was in New Orleans for the first time for a conference this past weekend, and we booked a ghost tour just for something fun and unique to do. I was totally blown away by how knowledgeable (and invested) Randy is in New Orleans history, and he's incredibly entertaining to boot. Randy is a true historian, and I much appreciated that he didn't solely deliver canned "ghost stories" like I'd expected we'd hear. He was eager to give a great restaurant recommendation for after the tour and even stopped by the door of the restaurant where we were waiting to be seated to remind us to try their bread pudding. I just loved the whole experience. Book a tour with Randy ASAP and I promise you won't regret it.

St. Louis Cemetery #1 in New Orleans, LA

Reviewed October 14, 2015

My fiance and I went on the St. Louis Cemetery #1 tour last Friday at 1:00pm. I was excited to get Randy as our tour guide, because I remembered reading numerous rave reviews about him. We lucked out with a personal tour, as we were the only people to have booked that Friday afternoon time slot. Randy was extremely knowledgeable regarding New Orleans history and architecture. He doled out well-researched facts about the city (including its customs, its struggles, the original settlers, and the buildings) in the MOST entertaining way. I was amazed at all the things I learned during the 2-hour tour. As a native New Orleanian, it was a real treat. My fiance said he thoroughly enjoyed the tour as well, and Randy really made it memorable by joking with him along the way. Although it was hot that day, Randy offered us a stop for bottled water at the start of the tour and made sure to keep us in the shade whenever possible. I would highly recommend any tour with Randy!!

Custom tour for family and friends

Reviewed October 13, 2015

We had a family and friends reunion for a birthday celebration in New Orleans. The ages of our 15 member group ranged from 10-80 years old. Randy was extremely flexible to try to accomodate our range of needs and requests: beignets, the cemetary, the Garden District, oysters for lunch, the French quarter. He met us at our rented house at 10 am. Various people peeled off over the course of the tour to see specific sites: the aquarium or the Ogden Art Museum, but the core of us stayed with him for about 5 hours , even though Randy actually had set aside another 2 hours for us until 5 pm. Randy is passionate about his city, and you really felt that this is what imbues his desire to serve as your tour guide. He wants to share this love and his vast knowledge with visitors. We learned so many interesting facts.

Randy makes the tour!

Reviewed September 18, 2015

We were looking to do something during our most recent trip to New Orleans (N'awlins) other than drink & eat (which is hard to do!), so we asked our hotel's concierge to recommend a cemetery tour. We (there were four (4) of us) booked a Garden District cemetery walking tour through Magic Tours and Randy was the guide. I have to say, Randy makes the tour! The sites (both the homes in the District & the cemetery) were very interesting; however Randy's interaction, friendliness and willingness to answer questions (to the point of almost extending the tour beyond it's scheduled time) is the reason I would seek him out for any other tours in New Orleans!
