Dominique Fiquet
As a Cherbourg native & Norman history scholar / WW2 guide, Dominique is excellent, with multilingual skills. My husband & I met her in Bayeux for 1-day American beaches tour + Tapestry background. Less expensive w your own car rental. Her depth of knowledge & experience in guiding show in her preparation & delivery. She has previously guided the Band of Brothers actors' reunions, but gives you insight into how French life in Normandy was affected & how Norman(dy) culture is unique. Great guide! Marianne Salerno
Marianne guided my husband & I in Normandy from Bayeux using our rent-a-car/GPS for 2 days. She showed her passion for history & culture, adding her unique background knowledge - Canadian/Brit beaches 1 day & culture tour the 2nd. As a FRENCH guide she gives experience from real life for her country & people in great English - not as a guidebook/map/history book. She became a friend! Loves chocolate. This is our 2nd tour with Marianne, whom we consider a friend. The day before we did basics not needing a guide (Tower, Arc, boat, etc). We got in-depth insight for Ste. Chapelle, Notre Dame, Sorbonne / Latin Quarter, P. de Luxembourg, Invalides, etc. from Marianne, which makes a big difference in seeing Paris through a Parisian's eyes. Buy 2-day Paris Visite transit ticket + RATP, NextStopParis, & online map apps. For time, use Uber if a bus connection or walk is too long. Great lunch & tour!!
