Kaan Aksoy

I could not recommend Kaan enough as a tour guide. His professionalism and degree of personal involvement in making sure everyone’s trip was enjoyable exceeded that of many tour guides abroad. Not only was Kaan informative about the intricacies of ancient Turkish culture (some of which they don’t tell you in textbooks), but he was also very knowledgeable of the modern, more secular aspect of Turkish culture (great for a varying demographics and populations with different interests). Kaan was an honest and kind tour guide, and will help you with questions and queries which are unrelated to the tour (after the tour he stayed behind and showed us a reputable shop where to buy traditional Ottoman vases). Although we had only a couple of days in Istanbul, thanks to Kaan we were able to scratch the surface of a complex and buzzing metropolis, one which encompasses aspects of traditionalism and modernity.
