day in Kolkata

Reviewed March 31, 2019

We had a fabulous day, booking Bratati could not have been easier to communicate with leading up to the trip and she planned a great day for us.

Bratati really made the day an excellent adventure and she was helpful both during the trip and helping us plan the following day when we wwre on our own.

We alway book a guide when we visit a new city and are there for only a short time,  its so easy not to see the best of the city when wondering around alone (even with a guide book).

Who ever books Bratati will not be dissapointed and will have a great a guide.

Bratiti was puctual and had the driver meet us at our modest hotel...he was even a little early! He took us right to Bratiti and she gave us a wonderful overview of Kolkata. She is a professional guide and had lots of facts about the city and its culture. A very good expereince.

A fulfilling day with Banti

Reviewed November 12, 2018

I felt this is the first time ever for my India trip I made not only good but the right decision going with Banti for my Calcutta tour. She is the best tour guide I have ever and all that I can ask for. I shared with Banti the things I am interested in for my full-day tour, one of the place was the old glorious (albeit dilapidated) house of the babus. She happily tweaked that and walked with me thru Kumartuli. Walking passed the beautiful homes of the babus and listening to her recount of the history of the babus is like going back in time and living the story in a story book. I asked her many things during the trip and she answered in such clear, understandable digestible way. Banti is also alert. She would stop her explanation if there is something worth seeing or explaining on the spot , so we dont lose the “golden moment”. She took you to good restaurant as well for a true blue Bengali lunch and I had the most delicious fish dish and egg plant dish. I also tried tbe Bengali sandhesh today at the Girish Chandra Dey & Nakur Chandra Nandy. First time ever I felt I have a “proper guide”. I appreciate all the historical facts from her told as if she was the one who narrated it. I learned so much from her and I wish I could spend another day with her so I can learn more. Calcutta became like a familiar stranger thru’ Banti’s sharing.
