Thanks to Raffaele, we had an unforgettable experience touring the ruins of Pompei. First and foremost, he is a great story-teller. And as an archeologist and an art historian, he’s got plenty of stories to tell. I am on a wheelchair, so at tourist hotspots I often get “trapped” inside other tour groups and get to to sample the narration from various tour guides. Most just drone on and on as if reciting from a Tour Guide 101 workbook. Raffaele is completely different. His passion is so infectious that he makes the past come alive. I’m not joking. A few times I had to choke back tears because Raffaele made me so emotional about what happened to the people in Pompei. He is also very organized, very professional. We were lucky to have him with us.
