I first met Tapas at the guesthouse I stayed at Sreemangal in Jaunary 2012. I had been travelling solo around Bangladesh. A group of us from the guesthouse went to the nearby forest with Tapas, and he guided us around. He is a warm and friendly dynamic personality, speaks excellent English, and knows a lot about the plants and animals in the forest. He pointed out many things to us that we would otherwise have missed. I also spent a day with him myself, visiting the market and walking to some small villages near Sreemangal where we observed some weaving workshops, and also taking a tuk tuk to a tribal village. Another time I went with Tapas and another couple to the local wetlands. He has lots of ideas of places to visit, and can help you plan your local sightseeing. He is a great guy who went out of his way to assist me - we went to the local second hand clothing market where he helped me buy some warm clothes I needed. You can't do better than having Tapas show you around!
