Know before you go
  • Every tour is tailored upon booking and begins and ends in Stellenbosch. 

  • For collections farther than 20 km from Central Stellenbosch, a predetermined tariff is charged.

  • A wine tasting tour might cover anywhere from three to five wine estates. In the middle of the day, you stop for an a-la-carte wine lands lunch or platter and spend approximately 45-90 minutes at each estate.

  •  The guide is South African. He speaks English and Swedish and is a certified tourist guide for all 9 provinces for history, culture and nature as well. He is a Garagiste winemaker (Hunneyball Wines in Platters wine guide), is a Cape Wine Academy graduate and member of the South African Sommeliers Association. No matter your experience, he is eager in sharing his knowledge of all aspects of wine enjoyment and production. He is also a Western Cape bird enthusiast and keen photographer. When reading, it’s usually about African history and when he’s not guiding or making wine, you can look for him in remote places or underwater. He holds a Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP) for which medicals and police clearances are mandatory and are renewed every 2 years. He also has the required public transport permits and insurances to transport tourists.

  • Lunch is estimated at approx. R 95-190 per person, excluding drinks. Tasting fees approx. R 200 -250 per person for the day.
