Experience cycling in Vietnam through various kinds of terrain: beaches, rivers, and forests. Bike from China Beach to the top of Hai Van Pass (500 meters high above sea level), relax and enjoy a picnic lunch at the top, and walk to see vestiges of the most significant contemporary eras built by the Nguyen dynasty. Ride downhill with fantastic views to Lang Co and along the rim of Lang Co Lagoon, and experience swimming at Lang Co beach. Cycle to the bottom of Phuoc Tuong Pass, pass through rural villages, rice paddy fields, rivers and forests, and bike on interesting village roads winding through green paddy fields to Hue. Visit the fantastic An Bang cemetery or "Ghost City" at Vinh Hien village, and chat with local people at Thanh Toan Covered Bridge. Explore the village communal houses, local market, temple and learn about the local culture.

Day 1 - Hoi An to Lang Co expand_more
Leave Hoi An behind and travel by bus for 20 minutes to China beach.
Bike from China Beach to the top of Hai Van Pass, which is 500 meters high above sea level. The pass is praised by BBC’s Top Gear as the most beautiful coastal mountain road in the world.
Take a rest at the top, walk to see vestiges of the most significant contemporary eras built by the Nguyen dynasty, have some time to relax and enjoy a picnic lunch.
After lunch, the ride is downhill with fantastic views to Lang Co and along the rim of Lang Co Lagoon.
Check into the hotel in mid-afternoon and the remainder of the afternoon is free to rest and enjoy swimming at Lang Co beach. (cycling: 60 km).

Day 2 - Lang Co to Hue expand_more
Have breakfast at the hotel and take a short 25-minute transfer to the bottom of Phuoc Tuong Pass. The ride is known to offer the most spectacular rural landscape of the whole of Vietnam.
Visit An Bang cemetery or "Ghost City" - a well known fantastic huge cemetery at Vinh Hien village.
Continue riding along the Tam Giang lagoon, cross Truong Ha Bridge, then turn onto backcountry roads that pass through rural villages, rice paddy fields, rivers and forests.
Stop at Thanh Toan Covered Bridge for an opportunity to chat with local people, visit the village communal houses, local market, temple and learn more about local culture.
Leaving the ornate bridge, we ride the last biking portion of our trip on interesting village roads winding through green paddy fields to the historic capital of Hue. (65 km cycling).
Note: The itinerary can be done in reverse as well, for those starting in Hue and wanting to end in Hoi An.
