Visit the Nerubaiskoe village to find the catacombs and then learn about their history while walking through the site. Catacombs are underground labyrinths created during the period of the city construction over 200 years ago. They are situated everywhere underneath Odessa, created during the mining of hardware materials such as shell rock used to build the city. Currently, it is a labyrinth with hundreds of entrances, exits, caves, and tunnels. Before the WWII labyrinths, this place was used for smugglers. During WWII, this place was used as a shelter for the partisans.
