    • Start the tour from Stone Town, Old Fort main entrance at 10:00. 

    • Enjoy a walking tour to a local Spice Farm (shamba). While there, you shall see how the spices, herbs and fruits are grown and cultivated. Spices and herbs were originally introduced to Zanzibar by Portuguese traders in the 16th century, brought from their colonies in South America and India.

    • Smell and taste spices, herbs and tropical fruits such as clove, lemongrass, nutmeg, cinnamon, turmeric, vanilla, coconuts, papaya, chilli, black pepper, jackfruit, cardamom, cassava and oranges.

    • Enjoy a traditional Swahili lunch at the farm after your tour. This meal will help you really understand the different ways of using spices in different ways.

    • Finish the tour with a stop at a spice stall selling fresh packaged spices.
