    Depart Moshi or Arusha at 7:00 a.m. and drive to Ngaresero village (Lake Natron) with a packed lunch, with en-route game viewing. In the evening, explore Lake Natron for its flamingoes and other species. Enjoy dinner and overnight at Kamakia Camp or Lake Natron Tented Camp.

  • Day 2: Ol'doinyo Lengai expand_more

    In the very early morning, drive to the base of the Ol'doinyo Lengai mountain to start the climb. Reach the summit during sunrise and spend some time there before descending to the mountain's base. Clients will then be transferred by jeep to Kamakia Camp for a shower and rest. Dinner and overnight at Kamakia Camp or Lake Natron Tented Camp.

    After breakfast, drive back to Arusha or Moshi.

  • Ol Doinyo Lengai is the only active volcano known to emit natrocarbonatites, a rare type of volcanic rock that is rich in sodium, potassium, and calcium carbonate but low in silica. Lava with less silica has a lower viscosity, leading Ol Doinyo Lengai to have some of the fastest-flowing lava in the world.
