Description

Sign up for an unforgettable 2-day safari to Tarangire National Park and Ngorongoro Crater, where you'll witness some of the most incredible wildlife sightings on the planet. Starting from Arusha and ending at Kilimanjaro International Airport, this tour will take you to the heart of Tanzania's wilderness. At Tarangire National Park, you'll pass through open woodlands and acacia trees as you watch elephants stroll along the riverbank. In Ngorongoro Crater, you'll descend 600m into one of the world's most densely crowded African wildlife areas, home to an estimated 30,000 animals, including Tanzania's last remaining black rhinos.

Highlights
  • Check out the majestic baobab trees in Tarangire National Park
  • View some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa in Tarangire
  • Spot the African buffalo, Black rhino, and Lions in Ngorongoro Crater
  • Day 1: Day 1 - Arusha to Tarangire National Park expand_more

Pick up at 8:30 AM from your hotel in Arusha and depart for Tarangire National Park with a picnic lunch for a full-day game drive. Tanzania’s third-largest national park is known for its majestic baobab trees that dot the landscape, dwarfing the animals that feed beneath them. The Tarangire River is the centrepiece of this park, famous for some of the largest herds of elephants in Africa. Here, you may see lion, leopard, cheetah, lesser kudu, buffalo, oryx, eland, giraffe, and zebra. After the game drive, you will return to your camp/lodge, where a delicious dinner awaits you.

  • Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha expand_more

On the last day of your safari, you will have an early start. Finishing up with a quick breakfast, you will make an early descent at around 6:30 AM into the crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, unfilled volcanic caldera. It has a massive floor of about 260 sq. km with a depth of over 2000 feet. The 5-hour game drive on the crater floor will show you a lot of animal action. Keeping the camera ready is recommended. The African elephant, buffalo, Black rhino, Hippos, Hyenas, Cheetahs, and Lions are found in plenty. After the picnic lunch at the beautiful Hippo pool, you will begin a steep ascend to the top exit of the crater. This is the last leg of your safari, with a 4-hour drive left to Arusha. You will be dropped off at your preferred location in Arusha by 6:00 PM. With an incredible experience and many memories to cherish, this is when you bid goodbye to your team.

Pack your camera with enough zoom and memory space, binoculars, light clothes, safari boots, mosquito repellents, sunhat, and sunglasses.

You'll want shorts, pants, or even leggings (again, comfort is crucial when you're sitting all day), and for footwear, runners or closed-toed shoes like Blundstones are best, though some people prefer sandals.

Know before you go

We recommend neutral safari clothing for your African travels. This includes shades of khaki, brown, beige/tan, and green. These colours blend well with the bush and are best suited for safari travel for several reasons.

Please note:
