Day 1: Kilimanjaro International Airport to Arusha expand_more
Get picked up from Kilimanjaro Airport and transfer to Arusha town for overnight at your designated hotel.

Day 2: Arusha to Machame Gate to Machame Camp expand_more
After a transfer to the park gate, a 7-hour walk through the forest takes you to Machame Hut.
Camp throughout the climb and your crew will take good care of you, erect and dismantle the camp, and provide you with tasty, filling food.

To Machame Hut, 3000m.

Day 3: Machame Camp to Shira Camp expand_more
Initial steep climb followed by a gentle incline.
After lunch, descent and ascent bring you to the camp.
Walking time approx. 5 hours. Full board.
To Shira Cave, 3800m.

Day 4: Shira Camp to Barranco Camp expand_more
Climb slowly for some 5 km.
Then you climb high to 4600m to Lava Tower and stay for 15 to 20 min for acclimatisation, then down to Barranco camp 3900m. This is a fairly strenuous day as the altitude begins to tell.
Walking time approx. 8 hours. Full board.

Day 5: Barranco Camp to Barafu Camp expand_more
Climb Barranco Wall to Karanga and get excellent views of the West Breach.
Proceed to Barafu Camp.

To Barafu Camp, 4600m.

Day 6: Barafu Camp to Uhuru Peak to Mweka Camp expand_more
Wake at about midnight for the torchlight climb to Stella Point, approx. 7 hours with rest stops, and finally to the highest point, Uhuru Peak, with fantastic views of glaciers and plains far below.
Descend to Mweka or High Camp, arriving late afternoon.
Full board.
Barafu to Uhuru, 5895m; to Mweka, 3100m.

Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate to Moshi expand_more
Descent of some 4 hours takes you to Mweka Village, where you are met and transferred back to the Keys Hotel in Moshi.

After breakfast at your lodge, you will be picked up and transferred to the airport to catch your flight back home.
