Highlights
  • Learn about the "Big Five" in Serengeti National Park
  • Visit Ngorongoro Crater, the world's largest inactive, intact and unfilled volcanic caldera
  • Explore Tarangire National Park, most famous for its elephant migration
  • Day 1: Tarangire National Park expand_more
    • Get picked up in the morning just after breakfast and drive towards Tarangire National Park; the park is famous for its large population of elephants.

    • Have a chance to view elephants in large numbers gathering around the Tarangire River. A lot of other animals can also be spotted, including lions, leopards etc.

  • Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater expand_more
    • In the morning, after breakfast, depart from Karatu Town to Ngorongoro crater with your Tanzanian safari guide.
    • Spend the whole day exploring Ngorongoro Crater, where we will view a variety of animal species, including birds. There is also a big possibility of spotting the big five, which include lions, buffaloes, elephants, Rhinos, and leopards.
    • Have lunch at the best picnic site on the crater floor in the afternoon.
    • Later in the afternoon, travel to Serengeti National Park and have an overnight there.
  • Day 3: Serengeti National Park expand_more
    • Wake up early in the morning and catch up with a beautiful sunrise in Serengeti National Park.

    • After breakfast, enjoy game viewing in this park that has a huge diversity of animals than any other park in the world. There is also the Visitor Information Centre which also worth it. It is nicely designed and offers interesting wildlife displays with a gift shop that sells souvenirs as well as information leaflets. You can as well get cold drinks and snacks from the Centre.

    • Enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at the Centre under the shades of acacia trees.

    • Later, in the afternoon, follow the Kopjes Circuit, which goes anti-clockwise around the Masai Kopjes. This usually attracts many lions and large cobras. The Kopjes are known as weathered granite outcrops that are found around the plains, and most of these are miniature ecosystems, providing shade as well as drinking water within the pools in the rocks after heavy rains. This makes the kopjes good for spotting wildlife species, including lions, leopards and lots more.

    • View the sunset on our way to Taj Resthouse for accommodation.

  • Day 4: Serengeti Southern Plains expand_more
    • After breakfast, begin the day with a game drive where we will view more animals, and if we are lucky, we may see a live hunt.

    • Later in the afternoon, drive all the way to Ngorongoro and Karatu town to rest with your Tanzanian safari guide.

  • Day 5: Lake Eyasi expand_more
    • Early in the morning, head towards Lake Eyasi, one of the most remote places in Tanzania. The Bushman (also known as the Wahadzabe tribe) still maintains their traditional hunter-gatherer way of life. A local guide who will describe their lifestyle will lead a visit to the village. The Bushman will make fire from sticks and will show you their very few belongings. They will take you on a simulated hunt in the area with their bows and arrows, and visitors can try a little target practice.

    • Conclude the visit with traditional singing and dancing. In the rainy season, they live in caves, and in the dry season, they live in the trees and bushes. Upright sticks in semi-circle mark homes. Men hunt wild animals and birds with bows and arrows. There are different arrows for different types of animals. Poisoned arrows are used for large animals.
