Day 1- Nairobi-Moshi expand_more
Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive to Namanga border town.
Have lunch in Arusha and continue to Moshi for dinner and overnight.
Those arriving by air at Kilimanjaro Airport will be transferred to the hotel in Moshi.

Day 2- Moshi-Machame Gate (1490m) - Machame Camp (2980m) expand_more
In the morning, drive to Kilimanjaro Park at Machame.
Hike after the check-in at the gate through the forest to Machame hut (2980m).
Time: 7 hours
Distance: 18 km
Habitat: Montane forest

Day 3- Machame Camp (2980m) – Shira Camp (3840m) expand_more
Leave the forest. The path follows a steep ridge passing through open moorlands crossing a large gorge to reach Shira Hut.
Overnight stay at the camp.
Time: 6 hours
Distance: 9 km

Day 4- Shira Camp-Lava Tower-Barranco Camp (3950m) expand_more
The directions turn eastwards hiking up the dry landscape and then go down the valley to arrive at the Barranco Hut for dinner and overnight.
En-route, eat lunch.

Day 5- Barranco Camp (3950m) – Barafu Camp (4550m) expand_more
Follow the path to get out of the Barranco valley and cross the Karanga Valley.
After a few distances, turn North to Barafu Hut.
Dinner and overnight at the Barafu Hut.
Trekk time: 7 hours
Distance: 13 km
Habitat: Alpine desert

Day 6- Get Summit: Barafu Camp (4550m) – Uhuru Peak (5895m) - Mweka (3100m) expand_more
Start early to the crater and reach Point Stella in time for sunrise.
After photos, proceed to Uhuru peak, the highest point in Africa.
Later proceed down to Gilman’s point and to Horombo Hut with the Kilimanjaro trekking guide.
Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut.
Trekk time: 8 hours to reach Uhuru Peak.
7/8 hours to descend to Mweka.
Distance: 7 km ascent - 23 km descent.
Habitat: Stone scree and ice-capped summit.

Day 7- Horombo Hut – Mandara Hut- Moshi expand_more
Pass by the Mandara Hut while descending to the gate.
Transfer to Moshi for overnight stay.

In the morning, prepare to proceed to the next destination.
