Description

This 3-day Tanzanian safari starts and ends in Arusha town, the base town for all safari tours on the Northern Tanzania Safari Circuit. The three national parks on this tour are not that far from each other, so you will not lose any time on your game drives.

  • Day 01 : Arusha – Tarangire National Park expand_more
    • Early morning pick up from your hotel and drive further through the Masai Steppe via Makuyuni Junction. Head over down to the Tarangire National Park. This park is dotted with amazing Baobab trees and extraordinary large herds of elephants. The park is home to many animal species and some rare breeds like the Oryx and hirola.
    • Later in the afternoon, drive out of the park and check-in at the hotel or lodge for an overnight stay.
  • Day 02 : Ngorongoro Crater expand_more
    • Have an early breakfast at your camp at sunrise. Then, check out and drive towards the Ngorongoro Crater. When you arrive, register at the Loduare Main Gate and then descend into the crater for a wonderful game drive (with a picnic lunch on the crater floor).
      • This is also one of the few places in the world where the rare black rhino can be observed in its natural habitat.
      • As very few animals migrate in and out of the crater with its 2000 ft. high walls, you can expect to see lions, elephants, zebras, hippos, flamingos, jackals, rhinos, antelopes, many birds, and other species.
      • With a bit of luck, the Big 5 can be spotted during one game drive only with the help of your hawk-eyed safari guide.
    • Later in the afternoon, ascend to the Crater rim and check-in at a lodge.
  • Day 03 : Lake Manyara - Transfer to back Arusha Area / Departure expand_more
    • Have an early breakfast at the lodge (or you can also carry a packed breakfast & lunch) and descend into the floor of the Great Rift Valley, where you will visit the Lake Manyara National Park on the last day of your 3-day safari in Tanzania.
    • Enter the park and notice the evergreen lush forest fed by underground water streams, a perfect habitat for the Blue monkeys, baboons, bushbucks, and huge elephants sheltering in the shade.
    • At the Hippo pools and Lake Manyara, observe the hippos and the aquatic birds, including the colourful Flamingoes, pelicans, Egyptian geese, cormorants, and many more. Do game drives until midday.
    • Drive to Arusha, where you will be dropped off at your Arusha Hotel.

Know before you go
  • Ngorongoro Crater is often described as one of the wonders of the world. The ‘Crater’ (not a crater) is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and a known natural sanctuary for some of Africa’s densest animal populations.
  • The name ‘Manyara’ is a Maa word (Masai Language) for the acacia tortilis tree species, which the nomadic Masai people use to make hedges to protect their homesteads and livestock. The park is highlighted with many trees and the tree-climbing lions, which are often spotted taking afternoon siesta on the branches. Many other animals are a common sighting in this evergreen park, and they include; the impalas, giraffes, buffaloes, impalas, and the dik-diks.
