Myatmyo Khaing
We chose Myo Myo for 2 reasons. One, because I got emails from 5 different guides and her bid had the best English. Secondly because of the fact that she offered to let us visit her home. We went with her for 2 days. We visited a variety of sites and industries around the lake and enjoyed them. She went the extra mile giving us an extra long tour on day one in order to make sure that we saw all of the highlights of the lake, since our second day was somewhat shortened. Her spoken English is good, though not as great as her written English. She told us that she does most of her tours in French and she happened to show me her notes and she writes all of her notes in French, so I am very confident that her French would be excellent. She is a university graduate who studied French and English.
She has a very sweet temperament and is a pleasure to be with. The opportunity to visit her village and go to her home with her family was chosen by a couple of us as a highlight of our time in Myanmar as it gave us great insight into the life of a middle class Myanmar native that you actually get to know.
Tours Color Y Sabor
We just finished a trip to the Cartagena area with a large group. We used a variety of local guides. This service was mixed with good and bad. Their tour suggestions were by far the most varied and interesting of any of the guides we contacted. Unfortunately, because of our travel during the pandemic, many of these weren't available in the end. Their attention to detail was excellent, perhaps the best of our guides. However, they were a bit inflexible. Our group had issues with passports and illness and we had many group members cancel. Other guides were more forgiving about cancellations. The biggest problem that our group had with this company was that the English spoken by the guides was less fluent than our other guides.
In summary, despite our difficulties, I would recommend this company for Spanish speakers in smaller groups than ours or after the pandemic is over. I would particularly recommend them for someone with an interest in sightseeing in a different way, with more unusual (especially artistic) tours.
