My Reviews
Cristina Masi
We had a group of nine adults including two grandmothers 85 and 76 years old and two great grandsons 4 and 2 years old. Cristina handled our transportation, our tour and our lunch very well. We requested for a lunch with wonderful view and she delivered with a fantastic location in Vernazza atop an old fort. My 85 year old mother got so excited about the reservation that she managed to climb all the steps going to the top quite easily! Cristina gave us both history and political and economic narratives. She is well educated and sensitive to our needs. She also happens to live in Chianti region Tuscany so she could i imagine give a wonderful tour there as well. She could also arrange a lunch in Panza Chianti with the famous butcher cook Dario Cechinni. Thank you Cristina!

The guide was only interested in finishing the tour at Taormina so that he can get off the bus and go home straight. The tour operator Elio was also terrible and only interested in making a quick buck. His choice of guide was terrible. He looks like a sleepy operator and was only concerned about collecting his fee. My strong recommendation with TourHQ is to be very careful in choosing guides. In this case it was a company and not an individual who was the listed guide. My experience with the individual listed guides in Livorno, Kotor and Dubrovnik were in contrast all very very good and professional. They were all client focused and keen to satisfy the specific client requirements. They seemed to be very particular about leaving a positive impression and protecting their reputation. This was not the case in Messina Sicily where the guide that we ended up with was like the guide “from hell” he was not listening to what we were saying and everything he would say is that what we wanted “is not possible” he refused to accommodate our requests simply because it will not allow him to end in Taormina and disrupt his plans to end the tour in Taormina so he could go home straight. Please delist this guide Ernesto as well as the tour company of Elio. They are terrible.
Maria Sannino
Highly recommend Maria Sannino if you want an unforgettable experience visiting the Naples Italy area and its vicinity. We were a family of nine adults and two small boys aged 4 and 2. It included an 85 yr old and 76 yr old grandmothers. Maria found a very nice comfortable mini bus with a pleasant and charming driver Joseph. Maria asked us what we sought to see in just one day (we were on a 9-day cruise of the Mediterranean and had only one day in Napoli) and she recommended how we will make the most of the time based on our interest. Maria was also extremely patient and even playful in handling our 2yr old Alex who would sometime cry and be noisy like any 2yr old. She got Alex to stop crying too! She suggested lunch at Mt Vesuvius and we had an amazing view of the Naples Bay and far away until Capri island Sorrento while enjoying the famous Napoli pizza and the highly rated local wine Lacryma Christi del Vesuvio Rosso. As we drove down Vesuvius after our very happy filling lunch, Maria pointed out to us the funicular station built in 1880 which inspired the song Funiculi Funicula and all of us in the bus joyfully burst out singing Funiculi Funicula. It was magical. Maria is also very knowledgeable about Greek Roman Italian and Austo Hungarian history. She speaks several languages. But best of all, she truly cares for the visiting tourist and goes extra lengths to create an unforgettable experience. We will visit Napoli region again and surely get in touch with Maria Sannino.

We were a family of nine adults (with two grandmothers aged 85 and 76) and two small boys (aged 4 and 2). Billie found us a nice bus to take us around even with the very limited time we had (less than half day). Our cruise line Norwegian Spirit took longer than expected with its tendering operation so we got to dock and start our tour kinda late. But Billie made the most of what little time we had. She also did it in a very cheerful and resourceful manner. Billie had a sunny disposition and she told us about the history of Montenegro and the Balkans. It felt like we made a friend in Kotor in the space of half a day. Thank you Billie! I highly recommend her if you are visiting Montenegro.
