J DAS

We are just back after a great time in Kolkata. Our guide J Das was super. From the moment we met him, he put us at ease. We had already drawn up itineraries for 4 days in Kolkata, but we went with the flow each day. J Das proved to be a thorough professional,  very fluent in English.He knew exactly how to present his city to us. Since we love walking in order to get to know a city, we walked a lot! He told us all about the history of Kolkata and peppered his informationa with a lot of interesting anecdotes. He made it come alive. We visited, churches, temples mosques, a synagogue. We visited the White Town and the Native town. We visited  important landmark buildings associated with Kolkata's history. We visited the homes of Kolkata's famous sons and took pride in their achievements. A highlight was a visit to Mother House, something to cherish. And as  we left, we knew we would always treasure the memories of the flower market, the Howrah Bridge, the Victoria Memorial, Marble Palace, etc not forgetting the chai in earthen pots, mishti doi and coffee at India Coffee house in a sudden downpour! And all this was possible on account of a truly wonderful guide, J Das who went out of his way to make our hoilday special. Can truly recommend him. Thank you, Mr. J Das
