Xavier De Obeso Martinez Xaobe Tours

We recommend Xavier highly as a guide in Jalisco!

We spent the day with him on an outing to the archeological sight of Guachimontones and the town of Tequila. He arrived punctually at our hotel and we found him to be friendly, kind and charming. We were very impressed by Xavier’s deep knowledge of history, facts and expertise. We first arrived at a small museum in Teuchitlán where we were introduced to a beautiful collection of well preserved artifacts. He explained how these artifacts were obtained and pointed out details in the pieces. His conversation brought to life an era dating back to BC. Before heading to the archeological site we stopped at the Guachimontones visitor center and again Xavier explained the displays and pointed out details. The pyramid site was phenomenal and again Xavier’s expertise was most helpful to take us back in history.

On our drive to Tequila he explained what we would see and the process involved in the production of tequila, from the history of the evolution of how this beverage came to be, to the ground on which the maguey plants grow and how and why the small offshoots of the plant are separated. Because of time limit we choose to visit only one distillery. By the time we took the tour with the on-site guide we felt informed and knowledgeable for a better understanding. Xavier also recommended we see the beautiful church and plaza in the town center. Both Guachimontones and Tequila are highly recommended side trips from Guadalajara.

We thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with Xavier, who is so well informed on all topics, is an interesting conversationalist, charmingly personable, a great and safe driver, and we felt we had found a new friend.

We cannot imagine a better guide than Xavier and we would certainly request him for future trips. It would be like spending the day with a good friend who knows exactly where to take you with the bonus of giving you historical and well informed lessons. Thank you Xavier for spending the day with us!! We learned so much from you.
