Damith Dilshan (Dam)

We were lucky enough to have Dam as our guide on our recent trip to Sri Lanka. Whilst we had originally thought we were simply booking a driver to ferry us from place to place, Dam ended up being so much more! We hadn't even thought about hiring a guide, but were so lucky to have ended up with one. I can't imagine how different our trip would have been without him. He is incredibly passionate about his beautiful country, knowledgable, helpful and professional. He always gave us lots of options in terms of sights to see, but was never pushy and was happy to leave us be if we just wanted to chill. He was more than happy to cater to exactly what we wanted. There was one evening we decided we would walk somewhere for dinner. We of course got ourselves completely lost in the windy, narrow and nearly deserted back streets of Kandy. Even though we had given him the night off, as soon as we called him asking to be saved, Dam jumped straight in the car and came to rescue us in the middle of nowhere. More than anything, Dam was also a lot of fun to travel with. It was actually pretty sad to say goodbye to him at the airport at the end of our trip - we'll miss him!
