thin mu

Thin Mu was my guide during my first trip to Myanmar in November 2015. She assisted me in Bagan to view the amazing temples there. I was really lucky to have been assigned to her. First of all, she is very kind, warm-hearted and charming. Second, she is very knowledgeable about the history and art of the region. Third, she is patient and flexible -- important for a tourist with limited time, but who wants to see everything. I was impressed with her from the first moment when I asked to change the itinerary that the hotel had organized for me, because I wanted to see some different temples. Thin was able to listen to what interested me and formulate an itinerary that matched. I really did not know what to expect in Bagan, but was totally overcome with excitement at each new temple. Thin prepared an itinerary that reflected various time periods and styles of construction. She pointed out small details and recounted interesting stories at each one. Everything was timed perfectly so that I arrived at the Shwesandaw Pagoda just at the right moment to watch the sunset (jaw-droppingly beautiful). I really had the perfect visit to Bagan thanks to Thin.During my second trip to Myanmar in January 2017, I had the good fortune to have Thin as my guide once again, this time in Mandalay. She organized an itinerary full of interesting activities, like seeing the jade market, the gold workers, the silk weavers and the buddha carvers in action -- things I would never have been able to organize myself as a solo traveler. She had such an easy way of chatting with the local people as I took photos. Our meandering through the Zay Cho Market, where there were few other tourists was really a highlight of my trip. Another highlight was exploring the monasteries on Sagaing Hill, where we got to chat with one of the head monks and hear about the history of the monastery. She was remarkably patient as I took countless photos of the passers-by on U Bein Bridge (another perfectly timed sunset).Myanmar is a country close to my heart. My experiences there were made so much better thanks to Thin and her effortless guidance. And when I say "effortless", I really mean it. The itineraries were well organized and ran like clockwork. I basically showed up in the morning and an amazing day would unfold before me, filled with fascinating sights, interesting facts and stories, and beautiful local people.Thin Mu is really a treasure.I highly recommend her to others.
