Dennis Shayo

Dennis was the assistant guide on my trek up Kilimanjaro on the Lemosho route and he was one of the main reasons the trip was such a great experience. I always made a point of hiking by him so I could hear him share his knowledge about the plants, animals and geology of the park, as well as stories about funny things that had happened to other groups he'd seen on the trail which always helps you feel better about yourself during a steep portion of the route. I especially appreciated his patience as I practiced the Swahili he taught me. Anyone who can listen to someone count to 20 over and over without breaking his smile is someone you want leading your expedition. Dennis is a skilled guide and a funny, fascinating person. I highly recommend him to anyone planning a trip in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania.
