Maria Sannino

In 2020 I went with my parents and my little brother to Ercolano, I was around the 13/14 years old and I was still researching who I was. Maria was showing and telling us about Ercolano, that’s the moment something woke up in me, I became conscious. I remember this as if it was yesterday. I realised my love for italian culture, history, archaeology and more. Trough the years I have always taken Ercolano with me, I still have the little Ercolano Parcheggio card in my phone case. I have listened so much italian music and I now speak almost fluent italian. Without actually studying it. That moment I was so inspired by Ercolano but also by Maria. And i’m super thankful. Right now I am finishing my dance study in Amsterdam, and I have been choreographing some things involving Italian architecture and also culture and mythology like the Pizzica/Tarantella. (One of the pieces has been performed in Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam!) My next goal is coming back to Ercolano and creating and/or performing there. It’s a dream!
