My Reviews

Samuel Bisono

My son and I were interesting in visiting and learning about the MLB baseball academies in the Dominican Republic as my son is majoring in college in Sports Management at Texas A&M University and is also interested in becoming bilingual in Spanish and working in the sports industry.  This was an unusual request but we had read about what a great tour guide Samuel was so we reached out to him with our request.  Samuel exceeded our expectations on every level.  Before we arrived to the DR for the two MLB games that were held in Santo Domingo as part of the World Tour pre-season games, Samuel took his personal time to visit these academies and arrange for personal tours with 3 of them.  These academies are not well publicized, they are gated off and they are not open to the general public.  Samuel was able to arrange personal tours of the facilities of the Phillies, Yankees and Mets organizations.  My son and I learned so much about what these facilities are doing to bring international players in to the MLB and in the meantime helping to educate those players.  In addition, Samuel showed us several universities in Santo Domingo that our son might be able to attend on a study abroad program in the future.  He also took us to a great restaurant along the coast for lunch.   All during this time, he provided us with a deep history, economic and demographic information, etc. of his home country, the Dominican Republic.  We now have a new friend in the DR.  If anybody is looking to visit the DR, Samuel is the person to contact.  I wish we could have spent more than one day with him, but there were two baseball games to be watched and only so much time!
