there are 2 ways to hike up Mount Karthala: start at the very bottom, this takes 12 hours roundtrip, start at the "cabins", this takes 4.5 hours roundtrip, pick wisely, I, unfortunately did not know about the second option and could not do the entire hike, I wish the above information would have been communicated to me - Chris I - California
