My Reviews

I arranged a visit that involved airport transfer, a city tour and a nature tour. The cost quoted was $690, which is really expensive for West Africa. The day before my arrival, Ghislain told me he could not come as he was in the forest but was sending someone else. I arrived at the airport and the tour guide did not speak English. The next day, he sent an interpreter, so I was accompanied by a tour guide, interpreter and driver in a small car. The city tour lasted 4 hours and, most of the time, the interpreter and the guide were conversing amongst themselves. I had to ask the interpreter to tell me what the tour guide was saying. I was even asked to pay for lunch for the interpreter, driver andguide.I cancelled the nature tour (which was going to be a 2 hour walk though Akanda park near Libreville looking at trees and no animals! I’ve been on many tours (city and nature) in Africa and this was the worst.

I would hire him again. Provided end to end service. Made a potentially tricky river crossing from Kinshasa easier and risk free. Went above and beyond to meet my needs. Doesn't speak much English but has an excellent translator.

I've traveled to most of Africa so I'm well calibrated regarding tour guides and the level of customer service across the continent.

This is one of the worst tour operators I've come across. First, he charges twice the general rate for a city tour in Africa. That wasn't my issue: the problem is he is a poor communicator and is slow to respond to messages.  After sending a revised proposal, he was unresponsive to my messages - even the day before my arrival- until I paid the deposit for the tour. When you consider the security situation in the country, and part of the tour was an airport transfer, this was unacceptable.

He was also  in Mali at the time and sent someone who, although a nice guy, had limited English speaking skills.  Two of the eight stops on his proposed itinerary were closed on the day of the tour due to their regular schedule. One we could have seen if we just started earlier.

Emmanuella did a good job showing me around the city and an excellent job facilitating my crossing to Brazzaville. She is a very thoughtful and caring guide. She does not speak much English but she has a translator, which is common for francophone Africa tours. She is not a full time guide so it's best to do your research to plan your itinerary, including when sites are open to visitors.

Felix did a great job showing me around Caracas and provided an authentic experience. Speaks fluent English as well. Make sure to ask if his proposal includes transportation
