Hamdi Ahmed

Ahmed does not come originally from a tour guide background - he is a retired ex-military and chose to pursue tourism out of personal interest. So if you're looking for someone with all of the factoids and dates memorized about every historical site he is not the kind of guide you're looking for. But Ahmed is a truly truly remarkable guide because of three main qualities.

1 - He is exceptionally well connected: if you ever need anything ranging from AAA-grade dates (fruit) from vendors in remote locations, the most knowlegeable 4x4 drivers, a historian, a local barber to give you a treat or a beduin to show you how to make bread in the desert - he knows them all and have them on speed dial.

2 - He is adaptable and resourceful: Ahmed goes to great lenghts to find out what kind of experience a guest needs, and will make it his personal mission to deliver on it. That includes a great ability to adapt plans and make adjustments to better suit his clients wishes.

3 - Great people skills: he will quickly make you feel like a friend and has a very keen sense on how to approach locals and tourists alike.

Language skills: Ahmed and I spoke in French, in which he is exceptionally fluent. He is currently working  hard on his english and by now has a level of probably B1-B2.

Ahmed thouroughly delivered on my wishes, adapted last minute to unforseen circumstances, took enormous detours for my whims and majorly surpassed my expectations for my Tunisia experience. Thank you.
