Mohamed Zaki

My wife and I did a private 8-day tour with Mohamed Zaki (and driver) that included Aswan, Luxor, and Cairo. Our tour was far beyond our expectations. First, let me say we were concerned about travel to Egypt but once we got there we felt very comfortable and had no issues at all. Even the heat wasn't too bad because it's so dry. The Egyptian people were very nice and friendly. We stayed at Airbnb apartments explored the neighborhoods and got to know some of the local people.Let me tell you about Mohamed Zaki. He is college-educated in archeology and is extremely knowledgeable in both the history of Egypt and customs. We got to know Mohamed and as our vacation progressed he became more of a friend than just a guide. He helped plan our trip via email and accommodated our special requests for places we wanted to see outside of the regular tourist sights such as grocery stores and local markets. We even went to the Camel Market (lots of fun). Here is what we liked about Mohamed. It was easy to plan the trip, even which neighborhoods to stay in.He was always early picking us up--never late.He is an excellent teacher--we learned a lot about Egyptian history, culture, and even how to read Hyrogliphics. Our luggage was lost for two days and he made phone calls for us and went out of his way to make sure the luggage currier could meet us.He knew all the right spots to take photos of myself and my wife at each place we visited. He takes great pictures, thanks Mohamed. We spent the right amount of time at each sight--we were not rushed.I can't tell you how many times other tour guides who knew Mohamed came up to us to tell us we had the best guide. He was always a phone call away if we needed something after we were dropped off.He speaks and writes English very well. When planning the trip he was always prompt to answer my emails and made communication very easy. This was so much better than a group tour. We saw many things larger tours just don't go to.Thank you Mohamed for a great and memorable trip.
