Egyptoria

My wife and I spent 10 days in Dec-2021 spanning Cairo and Luxor, and the experience was made smoother, sweeter and very memorable by the team at Egyptoria.

From start to finish, the main organiser Tom (Tamer) was so prompt, responsive and helpful at all times - a true professional. Everything you’d expect of a responsible tour guide, ensuring every detail of our trip was going well and to plan, staying flexible as required, which was a pleasant surprise for us!

Our guide at Cairo (Menna) and driver (Gamell) were great, patiently taking us through all our planned sights - also adding in special Egyptian arts/specialities like perfumes, cotton fabrics, hand-made rugs and papyrus to pique our interest. Although not part of the formal itinerary, we figured this was all part of the Egypt tour experience and didn’t mind the cleverly interspersed stops between sights. What we also enjoyed were their helpful suggestions with food and knowledge of history and local conditions. Only feedback to them would be to go easier on the marketing and enhance the ‘experiential’ aspect, as we’re the kind of tourists who enjoy the more holistic aspect of taking in the culture, the people, the food and if possible, the spiritual side.

We fed this back to Tom mid-holiday and he absolutely wowed us with our next guide at Luxor (Essam), who was such an amazing guide that we connected with so well. He gave us exactly what we were looking for in Luxor, patiently and knowledgeably answering our questions and taking extra time to narrate so many aspects of the artefacts/sites, so much so that we know we’ll be visiting again very soon - to fully appreciate all that we were exposed to, through this segment of our tour.

Another few key points - we were very impressed with their punctuality, and diligence in keeping us informed of every day’s detailed itinerary, changing per our requirements, advising us of the better options, and also catering to our food preferences (despite being vegan, we didn’t experience any lack of good fare).

Last but not least, our final experience with Egyptoria was our pleasurable drive from Luxor to Hurghada. Very well organised, especially with the umpteen police checkpoints and our request to visit a temple en route - and the driver and assistant guide (both Ahmeds) were such great guys to speak with and be treated so well by, made for such a warm experience to conclude our trip with. 

Advice to all travellers - you may prefer exploring places by yourselves, but I’d highly recommend using Egyptoria’s professional and friendly services, certainly for your first visit to Egypt, for a smooth, hassle-free and enjoyable time!
