Description
Join me on an online walking tour of Waikiki to visit some of the best beaches on the island and some secluded ones too!
Starting from Diamond Head, we will walk towards the heart of Waikiki. The first stop will be Kaimana Beach, one of the less crowded beaches of Waikiki and a perfect spot for families, where you will see the old horse race track and the Diamond Head Crater. Next, you will see the World War I memorial, built to honour 11,000 soldiers stationed in Hawaii during World War I. It consists of a saltwater pool where sporting events have been organized.
Walking along the coastline, you will see one of the world's largest banyan trees, as well as the beautiful skyline of Waikiki. The next stop on this tour will be Waikiki Beach, popular for surfing and Queen's Beach, also called the Five-O beach, as it features in the popular TV show Hawaii Five-O. The beach is also famous for organizing volleyball tournaments and hosting the premieres of Magnum P.I.
Getting closer to the city centre, you will see hotels, shopping centres, and the Sheriff's Police Station. We will then walk through Kuhio Street, famous for shopping and dining, reaching Ala Wai Canal. During the tour, I will share interesting anecdotes about the history of Waikiki and Hawaii and the islands' beautiful mountains and volcanoes.
