Join this live-streamed, interactive online experience and allow our local tour guide to show you around the picturesque village of Monteriggioni, probably the most well-preserved medieval walled town in the Sienese territory. The village was a military outpost in the middle ages and was located on one of the most important European roads - Via Francigena. Today, the town is tiny; only 45 people roughly live there still.
You will see the little church, the main square, and the two entrance gates facing Siena and Florence. You will get an amazing view of the countryside from the last gate and even see the Chianti area, known for its wine, the famous Chianti Classico. On a bright sunny day, you can see panoramic views of San Gimignano, another beautiful little town located in Tuscany.
