Description

Join me for a live-streamed, interactive walk-in Český Krumlov, a picturesque Czech Republic town designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1992.

We will begin our tour with the famous panoramic views of the Old town and the large medieval castle that overlooks the Vltava river. Then, marvel at the Gothic architectural style of the historic St. Vitus Church before visiting the Formal Jesuit College and the Jesuit Gardens, dwelling on the country's religious history.
The next stop of our tour will be Swarnoski Square, surrounded by several beautiful buildings, one of them being the Town Hall. At the Barber's Bridge and hear about the legends of the barber that lend it the name. From the bridge, you can also take in the postcard-perfect view of the castle and the river. Barber's bridge connects the two parts of Cesky Krumlov. We will then cross over to visit the other part of town with houses adorned with beautiful frescos discovered relatively recently during renovation works. We will walk down Latran street and see the Minorite Monastery and the Red Bridge.
Towards the end of the tour, we will visit the Castle, exploring the five different castle courtyards and the glorious Castle Tower, followed by the Cloak Bridge. Here, we can try spotting bears in the moat as we relish the lovely view beyond us.

Šárka Šimečková has been working as a local tour guide in Český Krumlov for about 14 years. She lived in this beautiful medieval town all her life and enjoyed sharing her knowledge of the history of the place along with her own memories of it with new people. She has some memories from when the country was under the rule of the communist party and the big changes after the revolution in 1989.

Karolina Kortusova has lived through vibrant times. She grew up under Communist rule and later joined demonstrations and marches for freedom during the Velvet Revolution. She graduated from a university in the Czech Republic and got her engineering degree in the UK. She established her own tour company in 2001 and has been enthusiastically leading individual tour groups since then. She loves cycling, skiing and yoga, and she travels as much as she can with her husband and three girls. She has travelled all over Europe, South East Asia, India, and the US. Her favourite countries in Europe are Croatia, Slovenia and Italy. She loves strolling through Český Krumlov, a Medieval town which has been her hometown for more than 20 years. It is like a fairy tale destination! There is even more - her obsession is walking through the Český Krumlov castle courtyards open any hour of the day or night. No wonder it is the second-largest castle in Europe!
