Description
The 'Shahi Qila', also known as the Lahore Fort is the pride of Lahore and was inducted as a world heritage site in 1981 by UNESCO. The fort was reconstructed in 17th century by Mughal emperors, but its actual history dates back to the 11th century. On this one hour live-streamed online experience, you will get to learn about the history and architecture of the fort, and get insights into the living and ruling style of Mughal emperors who once ruled the Indian sub-continent.
Your expert local guide will show you the Dewan-e-Khas, where the emperors used to meet courtesans and state guests, and Dewan-e-Aam, where issues and concerns of the locals were discussed. We will then see the Sheesh Mahal (Glass Palace), Summer Palace and Naulakha Pavilion. These beautiful additions are attributed to Shah Jahan, and were his favourite places to spend time with his family.
Before we finish the tour, your guide will show you the Picture Wall. Commissioned by Emperor Jahangir, it is the crown jewel of Lahore Fort and is loved for its artistic beauty. During the tour, feel free to ask your guide questions on anything and everything to do with Lahore City.
