Description
Venice is a beautiful open-air movie set! Hundreds of movies have been filmed in every possible location of the historical city centre, starting from the Lumiere brothers, who in 1896 filmed in the city for the first time.
Join me on this Online Experience as we walk along the wide promenades and the narrow alleys of one of Venice's most charming districts - the Castello District. From this peripheral working-class neighbourhood to the centre of the city with its famous highlights, we will discover the hidden corners and majestic squares that filmmakers used as sets for famous movie scenes. We will review the iconic scenes and compare fiction with reality in front of our eyes!
We will also get to see the picturesque Via Garibaldi, the marvellous entrance to the ancient shipyard of the Republic, the Arsenal, the Basin of Saint Mark with the monastery island of St. George, up to Saint Mark Square with its iconic monuments, as well as the locations where films such as Moonraker, The Comfort of Strangers and The Tourist - amongst many other more recent ones such as Spider-Man: Far From Home - were filmed!
In addition to these charming delights, we will explore parts of the district that are off the beaten track. We will see the daily life that bubbles through the place and get to know the trivia and curiosities of a city full of history!
Present and past, fiction and reality, let us make the most out of them together!

I live and work as a tour guide in Venice city centre. I have majors in foreign languages and am passionate about ancient and modern history. I am also an art addict. Being a guide allows me to combine all my work and interests and share the love I hold for the city of Venice, my home.
Venice is a magical city situated in between the sky and the sea, an architectural jewel, full of art. Every brick and every stone speaks from the past, telling us interesting stories. And yet, the city is the cradle of original folk cultures, traditions and customs of people who are the bones of the city itself. I am going to introduce you to all of this on my tours.
