Walk with me as I take you on a quirky online experience streamed live from Dublin, home to famous writers like the notorious Oscar Wilde and James Joyce. On this tour, we will go through the sweeping history of Dublin, from its foundation by Viking Norsemen through the conquest by the Normans and its development under English rule. Through plagues and revolutions, opulence and despair, high romance and treason and dark murders and gang wars, the history of Dublin is alluring and intriguing to writers and musicians alike.

The tour begins at the Ha'Penny Bridge on the River Liffey and passes through famous Temple Bar area, the illustrious Trinity College Dublin, and the haunted Dublin Castle which once served as the seat of British colonial rule in Ireland. Of particular note is the Christchurch Cathedral, a holy site where Henry the VIIIth ordered the burning of religious relics and where Strongbow Norman conqueror has his tomb.

This tour is specially designed to take in the different eras of Irish history and its turbulent political history. You will have an opportunity to gain insight into Irish history and Politics and even learn a few words of Irish Gaelic, the original Celtic language of Ireland.

Anthony Kelly

I am a native Irish tour guide from Dublin. I deliver walking tours in Dublin, Kilkenny, Galway and along the Giants Causeway. I am an experienced day tour guide on coaches to Glendalough, the Cliffs of Moher and Game of Thrones locations in Antrim. 

I am inspired by the Irish verbal tradition of storytelling and like drawing little sketches to go with my stories and novel. I have won prizes for short story writing. My tours have a mix of politics, geography, history, myths and legend and ghost stories. 

I enjoy spending time out in the open and like investing myself in landscape photography.
