Highlights

- See the Grand Canal, Accademia Bridge and Santa Maria Della Salute Church
- Highly interactive tour with your seasoned tour guide
Description
Dorsoduro is one of the most culturally authentic pockets of Venice. A residential area, it is always bustling with activities, and you can meet Venetians doing their everyday shopping, children coming back from school, and big "campi" (squares) full of life and students.
Starting from Campo Santa Margherita, we will see one of the last boats that sell fruit and vegetables from the canals of Venice. Walk through narrow calli and cross many little bridges to reach the Squero, where you will see people working on a gondola as they made it in the XVIII Century.
Then we will walk through the Accademia Galleries to admire the beautiful Neoclassic facade entrance of one of the most important museums in the city. You will love the majestic views of the Grand Canal seen from the top of the Accademia Bridge.
If time permits, we will walk to the extravagant church of Santa Maria Della Salute, where you will hear the story of the plague and the construction of the church. End your live-streamed online experience admiring the views of Saint Mark, from the Punta Della Dogana (in the past, the seat of the Customs), considered the place from where the Grand Canal begins.

Meet your Host
Nicoletta Consentino
I have been working as a professional guide in Venice since 2009. I love this wonderful city, and I have always tried to communicate about its beauty and the delicate equilibrium that supports it to all the people that wanted to discover it with me.
I will show you Venice, its majestic monuments and palaces, the masterpieces kept in its museums and churches, the intimacy of the residential areas, the beauty of the hidden camp and canals; and Mestre, the place where I live, where you will see the castle from the Middle Age, the old Duomo, but also some of the most modern buildings in the city.
