Description

On this live-streamed online tour of Cusco city, I will show the landmark sights in its city centre, an experience heightened by my native Incan insight!

We will begin our tour from the traditional market of San Pedro, the local main market where farmers even today bring in their produce straight from their farms. To learn more about our everyday life in the city, we will visit the Santa Clara Church and the high school Ciencias. Our next stop will be the San Francisco Square in the vicinity, a lovely green oasis that was the first-ever location of the fly market.

Walking down cobbled streets, we will also visit the Korikancha, or the Inca Temple of the Sun, and I will share a few details about its history and culture with you. Then, making our way down the Avenida el Sol - the main avenue of Cusco City - we will reach the Plaza de Armas, the main square where our cathedral is located.

For the final leg of our tour, I will show the popular stone of the 12 corners up close before making our way to the traditional and artistic neighbourhood of San Blas. After exploring this area awhile, we will say our goodbyes near a gorgeous viewpoint that would allow you to take one last panoramic view of this lovely city.

Growing up in remote Cusco, where Juan Carlos Yanez was surrounded by Inca Ruins and high mountains, and the ancestral culture was a fascinating experience. It provided him with the inspiration to study and become a tour guide. He hence followed in the footsteps of his father, who is a very known tour guide ...the rest is history! He is enthralled by the other ancient cultures established in mountainous regions of the world, and he has travelled as a Tour Director to 33 countries. He continues to be fascinated by the parallels between all those cultures and how religion has played a big role in each of them.
