Pike Place Market is one of America's oldest continually running, year-round farmer's market. An early morning visit allows one to get a behind the scenes and look as the vendors set up and prepare for the day. During this interactive online experience, I will take you around the market and share with you its interesting history which goes all the way back to 1907.
We will visit the oldest Starbucks in the world, the first Sur La Table, and the famous fish markets. During my 15 years of work in the market, I have watched families that have been running these shops for generations grow up and hand the businesses down to their children and grandchildren. While I share my knowledge of the most visited attraction in Seattle, you can ask questions and chat in real-time with me.

Every spring when the cherry trees are in bloom on the University of Washington campus, I get requests from guests for visits. I have been learning more about the school every year as I provide tours in and around the area.
I went to work at the Athenian Inn, a restaurant that has been operating continuously since 1911, in 1991. Because I was working with in this historical district of the Pike place market I was thereby qualified to rent an apartment also within the market itself. Over the course of the next 15 years I became intimately involved with the day to day operations of the market, and today I share my love and knowledge of this market through a walking tour within the market, that really is the heart and soul of the city of Seattle.
