Description

Come join me on this real-time Online Experience and explore the beautiful ancient city of Bagan, home to over 3,500 pagodas. Built between the 11th and the 13th century AD, these pagodas are masterpieces of architecture, featuring a vast wealth of awe-inspiring plaster carvings and paintings.

We will start our tour of Bagan's many temples with a visit to the Tayoke Pyay Temple. Dating back to the 13th century, this temple is considered to be one of the most beautiful in all of Myanmar and is richly decorated in plaster carvings that we will stop to admire. While we look around, I will enrich you with some information about the history of the temple, the ancestral beliefs that inspired its building, and a lot more.

We will then head towards the Lay Myat Nat Temple, which is also known as the white painting temple and dates back to the 12th century. As we explore its awe-inspiring premises, I will make you privy to the reason why this happens to be the only white structure among an entire complex of temples reduced to red ruins. Finally, I will take you to a water reservoir belonging to the same period in history as the Lay Myat Nat Temple. We will spend some time here and discuss the spiritual and religious heritage of Myanmar before saying our final goodbyes.
