Kamnik is a cosy medieval town located nearby the Slovenian capital, Ljubljana. The Kamnik – Savinja Alps surround the town, and the river Kamniška Bistrica flows right through its heart.
In this Online Experience, we will discover the town’s tradition, history and architectural heritage through the stories of the historical houses where many known Slovene artists were born. I will also captivate you with the legend of the Small Castle by visiting its still-existing chapel that houses rare Romanesque portals. Together, we will examine the unique features of this town, such as its handmade iron signboards and how the main square and pedestrian street reveal themselves to be the heart of the town's historic houses.
I will then point your gaze towards the fascinating panoramic views surrounding the town, which will be a special visual treat for nature lovers. We will explore the hidden corners of the town’s center, and at the end of the tour, you will get to visit the Veronika Café to discover local sweets and see where the finest Kamnik beer is produced.
