Hello, you may have already seen my locality, Dharavi in the movie Slumdog Millionaire.

I would like to invite you to my home and to spend some time with me as I step out to take a walk in Dharavi. You will learn about the community’s rich history and how it became the hub of pottery making in Mumbai. You will see where the material comes from, and how it’s prepared. I will also show you our family business of Candle filling; how we fill wax in different types of candles and how we pack them for supply.

After walking around Dharavi, we will make Vada Pav, one of the most popular street foods in Mumbai and I would love to introduce you to the secret recipe that I learned from my mother. The dish is basically made of deep-fried potato dumplings placed inside a bread bun (pav) cut into two halves and served with one or more chutneys and green chili. This Maharashtrian delicacy is served in almost all hotels and roadside eateries, and I will teach you an authentic version that is the tastiest of them all!
