A very warm welcome to Newcastle in North East England! This online campus tour will take you to Newcastle University, right in the heart of this great city.
Together we will tour the external areas of the campus and see the main buildings and pathways. I will tell you more about the main courses to study, where to go, what to do and the famous alumni of the university. Next, we will walk into, and through the city centre, where you will see Grey's Quarter, Grainger Town, Old Newcastle & Quayside. You will be wowed by this city, famous not only for football, beer & industrial heritage but in particular for culture, nightlife, great food & a warm welcome! With 90,000 students across two universities and three colleges, there is always something to do.
You will get to know some of the famous people of the city such as Earl Grey (yup, he of the tea) and George Stephenson, who invented the railways. Learn about the invention of the lightbulb right here in the centre of Newcastle. Check out some of the great musicians and sporting legends from Geordie town as you see the fantastic nightlife venues and the mighty 5200-seater Newcastle United Stadium at St. James Park. Oh and yes, you will have to learn some of the Geordie accent...I'll teach you. Don't worry.
This tour will give you a great flavour of the university, this fantastic city and some insights into life in Northern England when you decide to study here. I look forward to meeting you on this tour soon!

I moved to the UK in 2004 from Germany to study in Newcastle. I have known the city all my life and have been fascinated about the changes from the 1980s to today - it is a great ever-changing city! I became a professionally qualified tour guide in 2008 and set up a business specialising in inbound tours and travel arrangements to Northern England.
