Description

Join me on this Online Experience of San Sebastian, a beautiful coastal city located on the Bay of La Concha in the Basque region of Spain.

We will begin our virtual tour at the Victoria Eugenia Theatre, where the famous film festival is held. This building has gunshots holes from the Civil War, which we will examine and learn more about. Next, we will cross the beautiful city park with some interesting monuments inside to reach the main government building. As we admire its breathtaking facade built in the "romantic style" of architecture, I will share some interesting historical facts with you.
Walking down the lovely open streets, we will make our way to the vicinity of the 19th-century town hall - a beautiful panoramic view of the sea and the islands around await us here. I will point out to you the beaches, the Palace where the queen lived, and the lighthouse on the island. There is a Royal Sailing Club built in the shape of a boat which is 100 years old that we will also visit.
Next, moving ahead towards the marina where a lot of boats are docked, we will see the 13th-century city walls. Entering the old town, which is full of restaurants and bars, we will admire an 18th-century baroque-style church that maintains its beauty to date. As we walk around, I will tell you about the history of the town and the Basque region, about the local traditions and the indigenous language spoken in the area, and why this town has become the Culinary World Capital.

We will end our tour at Constitution Square, which now houses many government offices and overlooks the gothic-style St. Vincent's Church.
