Description
This online interactive walking tour of Split starts with the Golden Gate, the northern entrance to the Roman Emperor Diocletian's Palace. We walk into the city and arrive at the main square, the Peristyle. Then we enter the Vestibule and visit the Emperor's dining room.
Next, we pass by the Silver Gate and tread upon ancient Roman stones on our way to Jupiter's Temple (the Baptistry). Through the Iron Gate, we leave the palace and admire the fascinating People's Square. Here, ancient Roman history and architecture provide the framework for a new city that developed within its walls. The tour finally ends at the waterfront, the famous Riva.

I enjoy doing walking tours of Trogir, too. I am fascinated by the Middle Ages. Trogir really abounds in romanesque and gothic buildings, so I'm delighted to share my experience with both English and French-speaking enthusiasts.
