Meet the guide at around 9 am and begin the tour. The first stop on this tour will be Guba (pronounced as Cuba), one of the largest cities in Azerbaijan located 168 km north of Baku along the border with Dagestan, Russia. The city was discovered in the 15th century, and in the second half of the 18th Century, it served as the capital of the Guba Khanate. There are many historical sites to see in Guba which include numerous mosques like the Cathedral Mosque, Sakina Khanum Mosque, Ardabil Mosque, and Juma Mosque. Other places of interest include the House of Guba Khan, a medieval bath and fortress, and the Museum of Local Lore with exhibits like carpets. Popular tourist attractions include Afurdzhinsky Waterfall and Tengialty Gorge.

Next, you will visit Khinaliq, located in the Main Caucasian Range at an altitude of 2300 m above sea level and just about an hour's drive from Guba. It is the oldest mountain settlement in Azerbaijan. The inhabitants of the village call it Kyat. There are around 2 thousand inhabitants live in Khinalig, all of them are indigenous and are divided into 4 genera. Each has its own cemetery, its own patterns for carpets and clothes.
