Description
Winter, spring, summer or fall, Delft surprises you all year round! A live-streamed, interactive online walk through Delft with me will be informative, sometimes practical, yet always relaxed and welcoming as we amble along the streets, along the canals and royal squares.
You will see the most important sights of Delft, starting from the New Church, which was built in the 14th century. The descendants of our Father of the Nation, William of Orange, are buried in this church. Do you know our famous painter Johannes Vermeer? He was born in Delft and made many of his paintings here. You will see 'The Milkmaid' and 'The Girl with a Pearl Earring' (not the real paintings but the replicas). We will then walk along the Prinsenhof, where the museum of the city is located, but more macabrely is also the place where William of Orange was murdered.
Wonder why the tower of the Old Church is so lopsided? Want to know why the Delft pottery is blue? And which royal highnesses are in the Royal vault? I will tell you about all this and more! This tour will be your best introduction to the city!
