Enter the exciting world of interactive stories each followed by a well-planned outcome. Create your characters, stories, pictures, and even dig out things from the kitchen to do an experiment.

Ideal for children aged 8-12 years, we will pick one of the following stories:

  • Strega Nona- Do you like to eat pasta? What if you got a magic chant to make pasta whenever you want? What would you do? Enter the world of Grandma Witch and Big Anthony with this story-Tomie DePaola. This book is the winner of the Caldecott Medal. The story is followed by creating your own chant. Materials Required: A4 sheet, pen/ pencil, eraser, sharpener.
  • The Wisdom Seller- Shops in malls, shops in the market, shops selling many many things. But have you ever seen a shop selling WISDOM? Come and listen to the story and write your own story or Wisdom Scrolls. Materials needed: A 4 sheet, sketch pens, ribbon
  • Heart Talks- Questions, questions, questions? Where do we find the answers? Here is a story to tune in to your own heart and share the questions which lie within. Materials needed: A 4 sheet, sketch pens, scale.
  • Clever and Witty Tales- The classic wise, clever, humorous tales from Akbar and Birbal, Tenali Raman, and others to set you to think, and add a smile on your face. Materials needed: A 4 sheets, sketch pens
  • Laugh Out Loud: Haha, Hoho, heehee.. how many ways do we laugh? And what if you can’t control your laughter? Come explore different sounds of laughter and learn about the scientific facts behind it. Materials needed: A 4 sheets, pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener
  • Pourquoi Tales- Pourquoi is French for ‘why’. Listen to a why-why tale and learn to write your own story. Materials needed: A 4 sheets, pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener
  • Choices- listen to the story “The Girl who Chose” written by Devdutt Pattanaik and reflect on the basis of the choices you make. Materials needed: A 4 sheets, pen, pencil, eraser, sharpener
  • The Magic Paintbrush- If the paintbrush is your magic wand to another land and painting your superpower, what would you paint? What would you do to help others with your talent? Materials needed: A4 sheets, colours- pencil/ crayons/watercolours, paintbrush
  • A Long Way Home- The adventurous story of an animal who loses its habitat and travels across a huge distance to find a new home. The story would be followed by making your own puppet. Materials needed: Glove, A 4 sheet, colours, scissors, glue drops or cello-tape, sketch pens
  • The Manic Panic- Ever found yourself caught between screen-crazy adults? A twist in the tale written by Richa Jha and Mithila Ananth. Materials needed: A4 sheets, colours- pencil/ crayons.

Meet your Host
Seema Mukherjee

An International Storyteller, a Storytelling and Story-writing Coach, an Education Consultant, a Creative Writer, and a Puppeteer, I am a Director at Storytelling Education and Arts India Council (SEAIC). I am also the Founder of Travelling Bards and Co-Founder of The Gaatha Company.  I have done my  Masters in English Literature (Delhi University), Postgraduation in both Education Leadership (iDiscoveri Education), and Garment Manufacturing Technology (National Institute of Fashion Technology). In storytelling, I found a perfect medium to blend and integrate my interest in stories, books, scripts and poetry, puppetry, crafts, dramatics, and toy designing.
